Balloons and Lasers

Meat Packing District, Manhattan

Yvette Mattern’s Global Rainbow was installed on the Standard Hotel for the past 2 nights, so I went out with Deshaun and a few other photographers who don’t have websites that I know of to capture the event. While we were out, we noticed another artist who strung up balloons, which is what the white blur is in the foreground of this shot.

Brooklyn Heights, Brooklyn

While we were out, a cruise ship was leaving the piers on the West Side. I was taking long exposures, so I got this shot

Lighting Up

Brooklyn Heights, Brooklyn

I went out to the Brooklyn Heights promenade with James last night to take some last shots of the city split between darkness and light. While we were waiting for the sun to go down, Con-Ed started powering up the lower part of Manhattan, so instead of a city split by darkness, we got shots of acuity lighting up for the first time in 4 days.
