Hawkeye R4 | Kodak Gold 200 (Expired in 1991)
Bowling Green, Manhattan, NY
My grandfather had a few cameras that I took with me when I came to Brooklyn. These were old cameras - some had bellows and there were these Instamatic cameras out there that I figured I had to use. The catch? These cameras take a special kind of film. Also: they don’t make that film anymore. The good news? You can actually fit 35mm film into those canisters, you just need to have one.
After a lot of hemming and hawing, I found a camera with film in it on eBay, won the auction and decided that I had to use this box of film that expired in 1991.
The shots from it aren’t perfect. Hell they aren’t in focus and the colors are weird. But that’s what makes them awesome.
