You’re interested in two pretty awesome cameras.
I’ve never personally used an FE2, but I don’t know what I’m talking about, see the replies for info.
I know that it’s a fully manual camera. You’ll have to set aperture and shutter speed for every shot you want to take.That could be a non-starter if you are new to photography. You’d probably want to pick up a light meter (I use this one) to go along with this camera.
The FA, on the other hand, is much more automatic. I have one and have shot a few rolls with it. Like an SLR, it has a Manual, Aperture, Shutter, and Program mode, so it can be as automatic as you want it to be. It will meter for you, so you don’t need to buy the light meter I linked to above, it’s also small enough to carry around with no real worry about the weight (for a film camera at least, it is made of metal).
I’d personally lean to the FA, especially if you are just getting started.
